Under administrative direction of the Assistant Director of Public Works Agency, the Director of Watershed Protection manages an annual operating budget of $86 million and approximately 130 employees in five divisions: Design & Construction, Operations & Maintenance, Planning & Permits, and Water Resources. This position represents the Agency in matters relating to the Watershed Protection Department.
Pay
Annual base salary of approximately $169,558 - $237,382.

- Educational Incentive: May be eligible for 2.5%, 3.5%, or 5% based on completion of an associate, bachelor's, or graduate degree from an accredited institution (not required for the position).
- Retirement/Social Security: The County and employee each contribute to Social Security and the County's Retirement Plan. Eligible employees may establish reciprocity with other public retirement systems, such as PERS.
- Executive Annual Leave: 248 hours per year, increasing to 288 hours after 5 years of service, 328 hours after 10 years, and 368 hours after 15 years. Credit for prior public service may be considered.
- Annual Leave Redemption: Ability to "cash in" or redeem up to 100 hours of annual leave per year after using 80 hours within the previous 12 months.
- Health Plans: Medical, dental, and vision plans for employee and dependents, with a flexible credit allowance of up to $26,626 annually.
- Holidays: 13 paid days per year, including 1 floating holiday.
- Deferred Compensation: Option to contribute to County's 401(k) and/or 457 plans. County matches up to 3% of salary per pay period in the 401(k) plan. After 5 years of service, an additional 2% non-elective contribution is made.
