This role will provide business-aligned guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. You will partner with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex issues into practical recommendations. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen responsible execution, improve decision-making, and support sustainable growth within a Legal & Accounting environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Responsibilities
- Lead complex public sector consulting engagements from planning through completion
- Serve as the primary advisor to agency executives and department leaders
- Deliver advisory services on regulatory compliance, grants management, risk assessments, and operational improvement
- Ensure projects meet quality standards, deadlines, and budget
- Review reports and deliverables while providing strategic and technical guidance
- Advise clients on federal and state regulatory requirements and compliance programs
- Support corrective action planning and compliance remediation efforts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Accounting or related field; Master's degree preferred
- 10+ years in public sector consulting, regulatory compliance, grants management, internal audit, or advisory services
- Experience with state/local governments, public agencies, higher education institutions, or nonprofits
- Strong knowledge of federal grants, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and governance practices
- Professional certification required (CPA, CIA, CFE, PMP, CISA, CGFM, or similar)
- Proven success in managing complex engagements and leading teams
- Willingness to travel 10-25% as needed
Pay
$175,000 – $230,000 annually
