About the role

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Director of Program Management to lead our Military Displays (MD) business area and oversee operations at our Alpharetta, GA site. This is a high-visibility leadership role responsible for driving program excellence, strengthening customer partnerships, and championing a culture where employees are empowered to perform at their best.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a diverse portfolio of complex programs, providing leadership to program managers and advancing succession planning, performance management, coaching, and mentoring
  • Serve as the senior leader for the Alpharetta site, building strong relationships across customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain exceptional customer satisfaction through proactive communication and relationship management
  • Guide programs from inception through completion, ensuring adherence to cost, schedule, and technical performance goals
  • Direct proposal development, business planning, budgets, and contract terms
  • Cook up resources across engineering, operations, production, and facilities to meet program demands
  • Identify customer needs, evolving requirements, and new business opportunities
  • Lead cross-functional teams across technical, manufacturing, and administrative domains
  • Resolve complex challenges with significant impact on business outcomes
  • Provide financial leadership by developing, tracking, and reporting program forecasts
  • Contribute to marketing strategies, business planning, and strategic corporate pursuits
  • Represent L3Harris at customer meetings, executive-level engagements, symposiums, and trade shows
  • Understand customer procurement processes and government funding pathways
  • Make sound decisions on pursuit profitability and feasibility
  • Foster a culture of engagement, trust, and accountability across a diverse workforce in an A&D-focused environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of related experience; OR a graduate degree with 13+ years of related experience; OR 19+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Program management experience in DoD or Aerospace environments
  • Strong technical foundation paired with financial acumen
  • Proven experience leading teams and partnering across business units
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, negotiation, and presentation)
  • Experience managing government contracts
  • Avionics background strongly preferred
  • PMP certification or equivalent highly desired
