Director, Product Owner - Charles River OMS/PMS - PGIM Investments (Hybrid - Newark, NJ)

This role is based in our office in Newark, NJ. Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely and from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. This position is hybrid and requires on-site presence 3 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation, configuration, and enhancement of the Charles River OMS/PMS platform across SMA strategies.
- Configure and optimize Charles River Trade blotters, Manager’s Workbench, workflows, compliance rules, entitlements, and trade routing.
- Design and support integrations with custodians, accounting platforms, compliance systems, market data providers, and downstream reporting platforms.
- Develop and maintain trade imports/exports, FIX connectivity, APIs, and automated Start-of-Day (SOD), End-of-Day (EOD), and intraday processing workflows.
- Build custom Charles River extensions, dashboards, reporting solutions, and workflow automation using SQL, Java, and Python.
- Lead platform upgrades, migrations, and SaaS transformation initiatives while ensuring scalability, operational resiliency, and regulatory compliance.
- Partner with Trading, Portfolio Management, Operations, Compliance, and Technology teams to deliver business-critical capabilities.
- Serve as the Charles River subject matter expert, providing technical leadership, mentoring, and implementation guidance across the organization.
- Ensure best practices and standards for security, compliance, scalability, reliability, and performance are followed.
- Collaborate closely with business and technology partners to gather requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
- Stay updated with advancements in technology and reflect these innovations in solution designs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience implementing, configuring, and supporting Charles River OMS/PMS platforms.
- Strong development experience with SQL, Java, and Python, including custom extensions, integrations, automation, and reporting.
- Proven experience designing and supporting OMS integrations with custodians, accounting platforms, market data providers, compliance systems, and downstream reporting platforms.
- Strong understanding of the investment management lifecycle, including portfolio management, trading, compliance, reconciliations, and trade processing.
- Experience leading Charles River upgrades, migrations, and SaaS transformation initiatives.
- Hands-on experience building and supporting automated SOD, EOD, and intraday processing solutions in a high-volume trading environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across Trading, Portfolio Management, Operations, Compliance, and Technology teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives, mentor technical teams, and drive delivery of business-critical capabilities.
