Director, Product Marketing - Global (Contract)
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a Director, Product Marketing - Global who will shape and lead the global product strategy and execution across The Ordinary and other Deciem brands. This is a one year contract, starting November 2, 2026. This is a hybrid role, based three days out of our SoHo, New York office.
PAY RANGE
The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $75-$85 per hour. Exact pay depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget.
What You'd Be Doing in This Role
- Shape the global product strategy and roadmap for The Ordinary and other DECIEM brands, translating consumer, market and business insights into clear product priorities and growth opportunities
- Lead the global New Product Launch (NPL) process from concept through commercialization, ensuring products are strategically relevant, commercially viable and delivered successfully
- Build a margin-accretive product portfolio by balancing consumer needs, brand equity, commercial opportunity, pricing, COGs and profitability
- Drive product innovation and category growth by identifying emerging consumer trends, market opportunities and competitive whitespace to inform the product pipeline
- Develop and lead strategic business cases for new products, including market landscape, pricing, forecasts, COGs and P&L, securing alignment and sign-off from senior stakeholders
- Partner cross-functionally with Brand, Scientific, Creative, Supply Chain, Commercial, Production, Clinical and other teams to bring products to life efficiently and effectively
- Lead product positioning, claims and messaging, partnering with Scientific Communications, Clinical, Legal and Regulatory to develop compelling and compliant product stories
- Optimize the global product portfolio, leading annual discontinuation and reformulation assessments to ensure the portfolio remains relevant, efficient and commercially strong
- Lead and develop the Product Marketing team, setting clear objectives and KPIs while fostering a high-performing, collaborative and growth-oriented culture
Skills and Qualifications Needed to Get the Job Done
- 6+ years of people management experience, with a strong track record of leading, developing and motivating high-performing teams
- Significant global Product Marketing experience within the beauty, skincare or consumer products industry, with broad cross-functional expertise
- Proven experience leading complex NPD and product launches, from strategy and concept development through commercialization, including ownership of business cases, P&L and portfolio strategy
- Exceptional strategic, analytical and influencing skills, with the ability to turn consumer and market insights into actionable strategies and gain alignment with senior leaders and diverse cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong communication and presentation skills, combined with sound judgment, resilience and the ability to navigate complex, fast-paced environments with multiple priorities
