Director, Product Management
About the role
TheSkimm, a part of Everyday Health Consumer, is hiring a Director, Product Management. This role sits at the center of theSkimm’s biggest opportunity: transforming a highly trusted brand and massive audience into deeper, more personalized engagement — and ultimately, sustainable business value. You’ll be the connective tissue across the product ecosystem and the champion of making every user interaction feel intentional, valuable, and unmistakably Skimm.
Responsibilities
- Identifies the real customer problems we need to solve — and turns them into opportunities that drive audience and revenue growth.
- Maps what should happen at every step of the user journey to help people progress with clarity and confidence.
- Pinpoints where our surfaces (email, site, app) need improvements to reduce friction and unlock engagement.
- Ships the right solutions — quickly — by deciding what to build, refine, or retire in service of aggressive performance and business goals.
- Defines and owns how we measure success through user behavior, product usage, conversion, and retention — and holds teams accountable to delivering meaningful outcomes.
- Ultimately you will drive how users discover value, deepen their relationship with the brand and content, and ultimately convert into loyal and engaged users.
Qualifications
- 6–12+ years of product experience, ideally across consumer media, subscription products, marketplaces, or lifestyle apps with roadmap and KPI responsibility.
- Deep experience with email, web, app, lifecycle, and multi-surface journeys with a media focus.
- You think in systems and pathways, not features.
- You know how to turn user behavior data into a roadmap with real outcomes.
- Excellent communicator and collaborator — you can rally creative, editorial, marketing, and engineering around a shared goal.
- Comfortable going from 0 to 1, 1 to growth, and iteration cycles with ambiguous requirements.
- Empathetic to user needs and sharp about business drivers.
- Known for creating clarity, momentum, and a sense of focus.
- Strong quantitative and analytical abilities that drive decisions.
- Ability to organize and motivate large cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage conflicting interests between teams and drive to solutions.

Benefits
This is a full-time position reporting to the VP of Product, with close collaboration across Marketing, Lifecycle Optimization, Design, Engineering, and Content teams. This role is hybrid with the successful candidate working out of the NYC office 1-2 days per week at the direction of the manager.
Pay
$130,000 to $170,000
