Responsibilities

  • Take full accountability for the Profit & Loss statement across the Advanced Advertising portfolio.
  • Drive revenue modeling, cost structuring, and margin optimization from concept through the development lifecycle.
  • Oversee both Operating Expenses (OpEx) and Capital Expenditures (CapEx) for the advanced product group.
  • Manage R&D budgets, track burn rates, and partner with accounting to ensure technology investments are capitalized or expensed correctly.
  • Lead the negotiation, procurement, and ongoing management of third-party vendor software, hardware, and data licenses required by the Advanced Product team.
  • Optimize enterprise contracts to ensure R&D teams have the necessary tools in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Build robust financial models and business cases for early-stage, high-ambiguity product concepts to determine viability, payback periods, and capital allocation strategy.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Sales, and Marketing to develop pricing strategies, packaging, and net-new monetization models for emerging product categories.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers, providing the financial oversight, business planning, and operational support they need to successfully execute their roadmaps and go-to-market strategies.
  • Implement and run a rigorous stage-gate evaluation process for the R&D pipeline. Make data-driven "go/no-go," pivot, or kill decisions based on market feedback and financial realities.
  • Continuously evaluate market trends, emerging technologies, and competitor movements to ensure advanced investments are aligned with future market demands and revenue opportunities.
  • Facilitate seamless collaboration across internal departments—including Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and Sales—to ensure alignment on budget, resource allocation, and product strategy.
  • Present financial health and pipeline progress to senior department leaders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. An MBA is strongly preferred.
  • 8–10+ years of progressive experience in product business management, corporate strategy, commercial operations, or finance, with at least 3+ years in a leadership/director capacity.
  • Proven track record of managing a multi-million dollar P&L and complex departmental budgets.
  • Deep expertise in financial modeling, unit economics, CapEx/OpEx forecasting, and vendor contract negotiations.
  • Experience working within an R&D, advanced products, or incubator environment. High comfort level navigating ambiguity, technical complexity, and long product development cycles.
  • Exceptional ability to synthesize complex technical and financial data into clear narratives for cross-functional stakeholders and senior department leadership.
