Duties & Responsibilities
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the indirect procurement function by developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to optimize spend across diverse non-clinical categories
- Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with organizational goals and operational priorities
- Utilize data analytics and market intelligence to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier consolidation
- Develop operating procedures, internal policies, and training guides to support consistent procurement practices
- Partner with internal stakeholders to create scopes of work, request for proposals, and other solicitation documents
- Oversee contracting, monitor contract compliance, and manage vendor relationships to ensure optimal pricing, service levels, and risk mitigation
- Drive cost-savings initiatives while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, organizational policies, and industry standards
- Manage capital procurement activities in coordination with internal and external partners throughout planning, budgeting, project management, and transactional phases
- Maintain supplier performance, manage risks, and resolve issues promptly to maintain uninterrupted service and supply
- Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to savings, supplier performance, and process efficiency
- Prioritize procurement activities to meet end-user deadlines and expectations
- Perform related duties as required to support departmental and organizational objectives
- Train and lead a high-performing procurement team focused on operational excellence and professional growth
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that encourages continuous learning and improvement
- Implement training programs to enhance team skills in strategic sourcing, contract management, and vendor relations
- Promote effective communication and engagement across all levels of the organization
- Lead spend reduction initiatives and ensure effective financial management of indirect procurement budgets
- Collaborate with finance and project teams to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Conduct procurement audits and risk assessments to maintain fiscal discipline and compliance
- Utilize financial data to track savings realization, cost avoidance, and return on investment
Minimum Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management or other related discipline from an accredited college or university; and six (6) years of satisfactory, full-time paid responsible experience in information processing, program management, systems development or related activity in a large governmental agency, hospital or health care facility, and three (3) years of which must have been in a managerial capacity;
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in “1” above, and five (5) years of experience, as described in #2 above, one (1) year of which must have been in a managerial capacity;
- A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.
