Director, Privacy Counsel

For our client, a leader in the healthcare space, we are seeking a Director of Privacy Counsel to provide business-aligned guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. This role partners with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex issues into practical recommendations, strengthening responsible execution and supporting sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage the company’s HIPAA privacy program, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
• Drive privacy-by-design initiatives across products and services
• Execute the privacy risk assessment program, including vendor due diligence
• Provide expert guidance on consumer privacy compliance and regulations
• Advise on AI privacy governance and emerging technology regulations
• Support interoperability and health information exchange privacy requirements
• Design and deliver privacy training initiatives for internal stakeholders

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission
• 8+ years of privacy law experience, preferably in healthcare or digital health
• Expertise in HIPAA Privacy, Security, and Breach Notification Rules
• Experience managing privacy incident response processes
• Proven track record in advising on privacy-by-design for digital products
• Ability to communicate complex regulatory concepts to non-legal audiences
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Pay

$232,320 – $303,600 annually

Location: Remote (US-based candidates only; no visa sponsorship available)
