About the role

The Jersey Shore Public Library Director serves as the chief administrator of the library, overseeing operations, staff, and community services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all library operations, programs, and services.
• Develop and implement policies, budgets, and long-term strategic plans.
• Supervise library staff, including hiring, training, and evaluation.
• Foster community engagement and partnerships with local organizations.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including library standards and funding requirements.
• Maintain and enhance library collections, technology, and facilities.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS) from an ALA-accredited program.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of progressively responsible library experience, including supervisory roles.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with budget management, grant writing, and fundraising.
• FBI and Pennsylvania State Police background checks, as well as Child Abuse Clearances, required prior to employment.
