Director, Platform Engineering

For our client, a leader in the Media space, we are seeking a Director of Platform Engineering to lead technical work focused on secure, reliable systems and risk-aware execution. This role offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Media environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a cross-functional team of engineers, architects, and data professionals
• Partner with business units to define data platform requirements
• Own platform SLAs, uptime, cost management, and quality standards
• Drive best practices in data engineering, governance, and DevOps
• Oversee vendor relationships and cloud partnerships
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations
• Champion a culture of data democratization and self-service analytics

Qualifications

• 12+ years in data engineering, architecture, or platform leadership roles
• 5+ years in a director or senior leadership role managing technical teams
• Experience delivering enterprise-scale data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg)
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Executive communication skills to influence cross-functional stakeholders
• Experience with budget management and P&L ownership

Pay

$150,000 – $200,000 annually
