Director, Pharmacy

About the Role

FFF Enterprises is seeking a Director, Pharmacy to provide leadership, administration, and daily practice oversight of pharmacy operations. This role serves as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for the state in which the pharmacy is located and any additional states requiring that designation. The Director ensures compliance with federal and state laws, professional standards, accreditation requirements, and Nufactor policies while overseeing strategic planning, clinical services, financial management, and personnel development.

Responsibilities

• Pharmacy Operations & Practice Oversight:
  • Plan, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate all activities related to pharmacy operations.
  • Oversee day-to-day workflow, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to standards.
  • Provide clinical and operational judgment as an escalation resource for practice, workflow, and patient care.
  • Manage pharmacy staffing, inventory, supplies, and operational resources.
  • Perform staff pharmacist duties and participate in the on-call schedule.
  • Participate in inventory activities, special projects, and committees.
• Pharmacist-in-Charge, Licensure & Regulatory Compliance:
  • Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge for the resident state and any additional states requiring designation.
  • Maintain individual pharmacist licenses and support pharmacy licensure in all relevant states.
  • Develop and maintain pharmacy services in compliance with federal/state laws, board requirements, and Nufactor policies.
  • Monitor legal/regulatory changes and update practices, procedures, and staff guidance accordingly.
  • Maintain medication records, including controlled substances, and submit required reports.
  • Ensure pharmacy readiness for inspections, licensing reviews, and accreditation activities.
• Clinical Services, Quality & Accreditation:
  • Oversee pharmaceutical care and clinical services to promote safe and effective medication use.
  • Develop and maintain a pharmacy quality program meeting Joint Commission, URAC, and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor service quality and address clinical, operational, or documentation concerns.
  • Provide clinical consultation to healthcare professionals on medications, services, and patient care.
  • Stay current on medications, therapies, disease states, and industry developments.
  • Share clinical/regulatory updates with pharmacy personnel to support professional development.
• Workforce Leadership & Development:
  • Supervise pharmacy personnel and serve as a resource for clinical/operational guidance.
  • Interview, select, onboard, train, and retain qualified employees.
  • Assign work, set goals, and establish performance expectations aligned with company objectives.
  • Complete performance evaluations and provide coaching, feedback, and corrective guidance.
  • Maintain job descriptions and support employee training/development programs.
  • Address employee concerns, complaints, and performance matters per company policies.
• General Responsibilities:

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited program.
• Knowledge:
  • Federal/state pharmacy laws, board requirements, dispensing standards, and professional practice.
  • Joint Commission and URAC standards for pharmacy services.
  • Pharmacy operations, pharmaceutical care, medication accountability, and controlled substances.
• Preferred Knowledge:
  • Infusion-related medications, supplies, DME, and clinical considerations for home infusion therapy.
• Experience:
  • Minimum one (1) year of hospital or infusion-based pharmacy experience (intravenous admixture or home infusion therapy).
  • Preferred: Supervisory/management experience; experience with hemophilia, immune deficiency, or specialty conditions.
• Skills:
  • Analytical/problem-solving skills for complex clinical/operational issues.

  • Effective verbal/written communication and professional interaction.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and office equipment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality (HIPAA, company policy).

  • Improving pharmacy workflows and promoting efficient practices.
  • Coaching/developing personnel with clear performance expectations.
• Certifications & Licensure:
  • Current, unrestricted pharmacist license in the resident state.
  • Ability to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for the resident state and others as required.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain licensure in all states supporting patient care/business needs.
  • Immune Globulin Certified Pharmacist (IgCP) certification within two (2) years of employment.
• Preferred Certification: Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP).

Physical & Mental Demands
