About the role
The Director, Perception leads the development and implementation of perception technologies that enable autonomous vehicles to perceive their environment. This includes managing a team of engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test perception algorithms and systems.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and optimization of perception algorithms and systems for autonomous vehicles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, and data science to ensure alignment on perception requirements and integration.
- Manage a team of engineers and provide technical leadership and mentorship.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to perception technology.
- Contribute to the strategic vision and roadmap for perception technologies within the organization.
Requirements
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in perception engineering or related fields.
- Proven track record of successful leadership in a technical role.
- Experience with machine learning and computer vision techniques.
- Strong understanding of sensor fusion and perception algorithms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Expertise in perception technologies for autonomous vehicles.
- Experience with sensor calibration and data processing.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and standards relevant to perception technology.
