Director, Perception

About the role

The Director, Perception leads the development and implementation of perception technologies that enable autonomous vehicles to perceive their environment. This includes managing a team of engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test perception algorithms and systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development and optimization of perception algorithms and systems for autonomous vehicles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, and data science to ensure alignment on perception requirements and integration.
• Manage a team of engineers and provide technical leadership and mentorship.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to perception technology.
• Contribute to the strategic vision and roadmap for perception technologies within the organization.

Requirements

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in perception engineering or related fields.
• Proven track record of successful leadership in a technical role.
• Experience with machine learning and computer vision techniques.
• Strong understanding of sensor fusion and perception algorithms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
