About the role

The Director of Pediatric Palliative Care leads a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing compassionate, holistic care to children and families facing serious illnesses. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, this role oversees palliative care services, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborates with other departments to enhance patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of palliative care programs tailored to pediatric patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement palliative care protocols and guidelines.
  • Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to the palliative care team.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with referring physicians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct regular assessments of patient needs and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects related to pediatric palliative care.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in pediatrics and/or palliative medicine.
  • At least 5 years of experience in pediatric palliative care.
  • Experience leading interdisciplinary teams and managing complex care cases.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead change and improve patient care outcomes.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing pediatric care.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR).

Pay

Minimum salary: $266,250
Maximum salary: $286,000
