Director - Pathology - FT - Days - MRH
Responsibilities
- Provides day to day technical direction and oversight for comprehensive laboratory services under the guidance of the Laboratory Medical Director.
- Prepares department budgets for personnel, operating expenses and capital equipment and monitors the performance against budget for assigned cost center(s).
- Captures and coordinates internal/external audits.
- Directs quality assurance activities and ensures that all Quality Assurance activities within the department conform to accrediting agency and CLIA'88 requirements; working with each section manager to ensure sectional QA plans are complete within established guidelines.
- Supervises assigned staff and provides assistance to others in supervising their staff.
- Ensures that productivity measures accurately reflect the departmental workload.
- Ensures adequate and appropriate staffing throughout the department.
- Ensures that sections receive appropriate in-service and orientation training.
- Works with hospital administration on planning, organizing and directing laboratory operations.
- Consults other departments, as appropriate, to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of managerial/supervisory experience required.

- Associates degree (Required)
- American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), Clinical Lab Supervisor License (SU LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
