Director, Omni Commerce
About the role
The Director of Omni Commerce leads a Bentonville-embedded capability that manages 1P content, 3P marketplace execution, search, SEO, and Sparky (AI) readiness as part of every client's Walmart plan. This role exists because the digital shelf now spans store, app, site, marketplace, and AI discovery — and content, search, availability, and fulfillment increasingly drive total sales.
Responsibilities
Build and scale a Bentonville-embedded Omni Commerce/digital shelf capability that supports every client's Walmart plan, spanning 1P content, 3P marketplace execution, search/SEO, and Sparky (AI) readiness.
Define the standards, workflows, and governance model that keep 1P and 3P marketplace listings accurate, compliant, and optimized on a daily basis.
Identify where digital shelf gaps are limiting launches, conversion, or revenue, and prioritize the team's roadmap accordingly.
Develop MPG's point of view on how the digital shelf is evolving across store, app, site, marketplace, and AI-driven discovery, and translate that into practical capability investments.
Own 1P content and product detail page (PDP) standards across assigned clients, including product titles, descriptions, attributes, imagery, rich media, and enhanced content.
Set and enforce content quality benchmarks that improve findability, conversion, and compliance across Walmart.com.
Oversee new item setup, content syndication, item readiness, and catalog issue resolution for launches, events, and promotional periods.
Manage content and PDP standards to optimize sales both in-store and for online-only items, growing total client revenue.
Lead 3P Walmart Marketplace management, including listing governance, marketplace health, and issue resolution.
Oversee Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) considerations, advising clients on fulfillment models that support marketplace performance.
Provide collaboration and advisory support to current clients on how to leverage 3P Walmart Marketplace as part of their total Walmart strategy.
Build and maintain relationships with Walmart Marketplace and, as applicable, Walmart Data Ventures teams.
Guide search and SEO strategy, including keyword research, taxonomy alignment, and content structure that improves organic visibility.
Lead the team's approach to Sparky (AI) readiness, ensuring product data and content are structured for AI-driven discovery and shopping experiences.
Stay ahead of Walmart.com platform updates, algorithm changes, and content standards, and translate changes into proactive action for clients and the internal team.
Build and maintain digital shelf health scorecards tied to Sales, Replenishment, and Shopper Insights, giving a single view of content, availability, and marketplace performance.
Partner with analytics and account teams to ensure reporting is accurate, actionable, and connected to broader client business priorities.
Deliver executive-ready summaries that translate digital shelf performance into business implications and prioritized next steps.
Collaborate across Sales, Operations, Retail Media, and Shopper Insights teams to connect digital shelf health to replenishment, media, and total account performance.
Serve as the internal advisory point of contact for questions on 1P content, 3P marketplace, WFS, and digital shelf readiness.
Support new business development by presenting a clear Omni Commerce offer for brands that currently lack Walmart omni execution support.
Directly lead and develop Senior and Associate Digital Account Managers, setting priorities, reviewing work, and building digital shelf and marketplace expertise across the team.
Establish ways of working, quality standards, and capability-building plans that allow the Omni Commerce team to scale across a growing client portfolio.
Partner with Digital Commerce leadership on resourcing, hiring, and prioritization as the team grows.
