About the role

The Office of the University Architect (OUA) is seeking an experienced and collaborative Director to help shape the future of the University’s built environment. Reporting directly to the University Architect, this highly visible leadership position offers the opportunity to influence a diverse portfolio of capital projects while mentoring talented design professionals and partnering with university leadership, planners, consultants, and project teams.

This is an exciting opportunity for a design and project leader who enjoys working at the intersection of design, planning, strategy, project delivery, and client service.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Launch Team, the group responsible for initiating University capital improvement projects and transforming ideas into well-defined projects through comprehensive architectural programming, conceptual design, and budget development.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to OUA staff while promoting design excellence, constructability, consistency, and exceptional customer service across the University's capital program.
• Directly oversee the Launch Team and coordinate a diverse group of subject matter experts, including:
  • Landscape architects
  • Environmental graphic designers
  • Interior designers
  • Move coordinators
  • Architectural and planning professionals
• Help establish, implement, and maintain the standards that define the University's built environment.
