Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Web Developers, Web Designers, and Technical SEO Specialists.
- Set production standards, development best practices, and QA protocols.
- Ensure clear role accountability and workflow alignment across the web team.
- Mentor and develop team members in technical expertise, communication, and leadership.
- Conduct performance reviews and capacity planning.
- Identify hiring needs and assist in recruiting top web talent.
Website Strategy & Architecture
- Oversee sitemap development, user journey mapping, and conversion architecture.
- Ensure websites are structured for SEO, GEO, and AI-driven search visibility.
- Define best practices for site structure, internal linking, schema markup, and metadata.
- Guide CMS decisions and technical stack strategy.
- Maintain consistency across multi-site portfolios.
Technical SEO & Performance
- Ensure all websites meet best-in-class technical SEO standards.
- Oversee: Site speed optimization, Core Web Vitals compliance, Schema implementation, Crawlability and indexation, Mobile optimization, and Accessibility standards.
- Partner with analytics team to track and improve performance metrics.
Design & UX Oversight
- Ensure websites are modern, brand-aligned, and conversion-focused.
- Guide UI/UX standards across all projects.
- Oversee design systems and reusable components.
- Balance aesthetics with functionality and performance.
Quality Assurance & Execution
- Establish rigorous QA processes before client launch.
- Ensure staging-to-live processes are secure and error-free.
- Reduce post-launch revisions through strong internal review systems.
- Maintain documentation for builds, migrations, and technical updates.
Cross-Department Collaboration
- Partner with: SEO/AIO strategy, Digital ads, Marketing automation, Content and PR teams.
- Ensure websites support campaign performance and lead tracking.
- Align web production timelines with broader digital strategy goals.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in web development, technical SEO, or web strategy.
- 3+ years leading web or technical teams.
- Deep understanding of: CMS platforms (WordPress preferred), Page builders and custom builds, Technical SEO fundamentals, Schema markup and structured data, Website migrations, Hosting environments (WP Engine preferred), Site performance optimization, and Analytics (GA4, Tag Manager).
- Ability to translate business goals into technical execution.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Experience in agency environments preferred.
