Director of Warehouse Operations
About the role
Northwest Partners is supporting a major initiative with a top-tier organization in the logistics and supply chain space and is looking for an experienced warehouse operations director to contribute to the success of this work. This role will lead large-scale distribution operations, optimize automated fulfillment processes, and drive operational performance through technology, process improvement, and effective team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead a 24/7 multi-shift warehouse operation, managing operational leaders and teams to achieve throughput, safety, and performance goals.
- Oversee warehouse management systems, enterprise resource planning systems, and automated storage and retrieval solutions to optimize fulfillment operations.
- Drive adoption and optimization of automation technologies, including automated storage systems, material handling equipment, and verification solutions.
- Develop long-term operational strategies including labor planning, capital investments, and technology integration.
- Ensure inventory accuracy, compliance standards, and supply chain processes align with industry requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and increase operational efficiency.
- Promote a safety-focused environment while maintaining compliance with workplace safety standards and operational policies.
- Manage operational budgets, forecasting, labor costs, and financial performance.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in warehouse or distribution operations.
- Experience leading large-scale, high-volume warehouse operations in a 24/7 environment.
- Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems, enterprise resource planning systems, and automated storage and retrieval technologies.
- Experience managing automated warehouse solutions, including shuttle systems, cranes, and material handling equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and drive operational excellence.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience managing budgets, forecasting, labor planning, and operational financial performance.
