Director of Training
About the role
The Director of Training at Allied Universal® Enhanced Protection Services is responsible for developing and implementing long-term training strategies, leading and managing training projects, supervising and developing training staff, designing and maintaining training curricula, overseeing accreditation and certification requirements, managing global training operations, ensuring training compliance and operational readiness, and supporting business development initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement long-term training strategies, objectives, and milestones aligned with the mission of the Training Operations Group.
- Lead and manage multiple training projects by defining scope, timelines, budgets, resources, and deliverables.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop instructors, training staff, contractors, role players, and support personnel.
- Design, develop, and maintain training curricula that meet industry and government standards, including lesson plans, instructor guides, presentations, exercises, assessments, and supporting materials.
- Oversee accreditation, certification, and licensing requirements for training programs.
- Manage global training operations, including logistics, procurement, travel coordination, scheduling, and course delivery.
- Partner with internal stakeholders, vendors, government agencies, and clients to ensure training compliance, operational readiness, and continuous improvement.
- Administer and maintain the Learning Management System (LMS), including course deployment, learning paths, reporting, training records, and compliance documentation.
- Monitor key performance indicators, budgets, and resource utilization to ensure successful program execution.
- Support business development initiatives by identifying client training needs and contributing to the development of new and expanded training solutions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license (when driving is required for business purposes).
- Ability to meet all applicable state and local licensing requirements.
- Minimum of 10 years of combined operational experience in military special operations, conventional military, law enforcement, or licensed armed security.
- Minimum of 1 year supervising a training staff of five or more personnel.
- Minimum of 3 years of documented experience using Instructional Systems Design (ISD) and/or Systems Approach to Training (SAT) methodologies.
- Minimum of 3 years of documented instructor experience within military, law enforcement, or licensed security training programs.
- Demonstrated experience managing formal training programs.
- Professional or educational experience in Executive Protection operations.
- Experience developing training strategies, learning objectives, and program milestones.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Able to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and organizational levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience administering a Learning Management System (LMS).
- Experience developing online or web-based training programs.
- Graduate of an Executive Protection training program.
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
- College coursework or degree in Criminal Justice, Education, or a related field.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $125,000 annually
