Director of Therapeutic Programs

About the role

The Director of Therapeutic Programs leads the creation, implementation, and oversight of therapeutic activities and groups tailored to the unique needs of residents at Affinity Healthcare, LLC. This role involves direct interaction with residents, training behavioral health staff, and managing the resident experience for a population with medically complex neurological and behavioral health disorders.

The Director oversees the day-to-day operations of the behavioral program, ensuring compliance with all regulatory, state, and federal requirements for skilled nursing facility (SNF) level of care. This position assumes 24-hour on-call responsibility for administrative and clinical issues.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of paraprofessional engagement specialists and mental health staff.
• Create comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with the clinical team.
• Monitor the quality of care provided by the behavioral health team.
• Implement training programs to enhance staff therapeutic skills and knowledge.
• Oversee admission and discharge processes, including developing plans of care and communicating with referral sources, families, funders, and prospective discharge sites.
• Assess the effectiveness of treatment plans and make necessary adjustments.
• Conduct regular staff meetings to discuss patient progress, facility needs, and department goals.
• Manage the department budget and seek funding opportunities as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of patients’ treatment progress.
