Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Liaison to Academic Affairs for Study Abroad (medical clearance, emergency/crisis)
  • Identifies barriers in health and wellness that affect students' ability to persist and develops strategies to support student wellness.
  • Buils and maintains referral relationships with community providers for supporting the holistic counseling and health services needs of students.
  • Formalizes referral and collaborative agreements through a contract process in concert with the Dean of Students and monitors the terms of any contractual arrangements with the Wellness Center to ensure compliance and manage risk.
  • Consults with senior leadership on issues related to risk, legal liability, and quality relevant to the provision of Wellness Center services and sets policy to operate within all federal and state laws and regulations, University policies, and professional and ethical standards.
  • Insures that operational and clinical data is collected, securely maintained and monitored for trends in utilization, demand, quality improvement and efficiency of operations. Reports outcomes to Dean of Students and appropriate regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborates with Wellness Center staff, Student Affairs and Equity colleagues, and others across university departments to identify and assess health promotion needs across campuses.
  • Maintains Health Promotion initiatives to ensure trauma-informed, culturally responsive practices.
  • Provides direct clinical care to students when necessary to support student need.
  • Provides clinical supervision to the staff to foster an interdepartmental approach to the wellness of students.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree required
  • A mental health or physical health clinician, training and licensure
  • Five to seven years of management experience as a clinic or practice administrator
  • Direct clinical experience in college health and mental health, preferred
  • Spanish language proficiency preferred

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to develop effective, collaborative relationships with members of the Wellness Center staff, University community, and external referral sources
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Care records software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
