Teaching, Research, and Service Expectations
- Serving as Program Director for the Master of Social Work Program (renewable term).
- 12-month, in-person appointment with a reduced teaching load (3 courses per year) while serving as director.
- Teaching at the MSW level with a possibility of teaching at the BSW level.
- MSW Program student academic and career advising.
- College, Departmental, and MSW Program service including required service on committees.
- Engaging in scholarly and professional activities.
- Recruiting and retaining students in the MSW Program.
- Serving as the principal representative of the MSW program to the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
- Coordinating and overseeing the MSW Program’s CSWE accreditation processes.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in social work from a program accredited by CSWE or CASWE and a doctoral degree, preferably in social work.
- Graduates of Master's programs outside of the United States or Canada must have their transcripts approved by CSWE ISWDRES prior to applying.
- Two years post-MSW practice experience.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
- Experience with CSWE accreditation through participating in writing a self-study or benchmark document and/or conducting assessment for CSWE accreditation.
- Knowledge of online program planning, competency-based assessment, curriculum development, and monitoring students' progress.
- Knowledge of higher education governance policies and regulatory compliance.
- Academic leadership experience in an MSW or BSW program (managing faculty and staff; budget development and resource allocation; experience with program evaluation and continuous quality improvement).
- Active involvement in professional social work organizations.
- License in clinical social work preferred, but not required; willingness to earn license in clinical social work if not yet earned.
