Director of Technology Vendor Management

A large global organization is building a dedicated Technology Vendor Management function and is seeking a Director of Technology Vendor Management to lead strategic relationships with key technology providers. This highly visible role partners with senior technology and business leaders to ensure software, SaaS, cloud, and technology service providers deliver value, meet performance expectations, and align with business objectives. The position focuses on ongoing vendor relationship management and governance, not traditional procurement, sourcing, contract negotiations, or cost‑savings activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage strategic relationships with software, SaaS, cloud, and technology service providers.
• Serve as a key point of contact between technology vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Drive vendor performance, service‑level compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor vendor usage, consumption trends, entitlements, and commercial metrics.
• Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and executive‑level vendor discussions.
• Partner with technology leadership to align vendor capabilities and roadmaps with business priorities.
• Identify risks, address performance issues, and drive resolution across stakeholders.
• Support governance, reporting, and vendor oversight across a complex global environment.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in technology vendor management, supplier relationship management, technology procurement, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of software, SaaS, cloud computing, managed services, and technology commercial models.
• Experience managing senior stakeholder relationships across technology and business functions.
• Ability to navigate complex vendor ecosystems and global organizations.
• Strong communication, relationship management, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Understanding of vendor governance, contract compliance, and service‑level management.
