About the Role
The Bruning Law Firm (BLF) is a "digital-first," "data-driven" organization on a mission to fight for our clients’ rights. We have built a sophisticated, high-velocity ecosystem centered on the Salesforce platform to innovate the legal industry and set a new standard for client service and case outcomes. As our Director of Technology, you will serve as the chief architect of the firm's entire technological ecosystem and an essential business advisor to leadership. You will lead a small team to define and deliver our technical strategy, automate critical workflows, and own the data that drives our success.
Responsibilities
- Own the firm's technology stack and data strategy with an owner's mentality, leveraging technology to drive profitable and sustainable growth.
- Partner with firm leadership on annual budgeting, strategic planning, and the development of firm-wide goals.
- Manage the comprehensive technology budget and all vendor relationships to ensure maximum ROI.
- Develop and execute a firm-wide AI strategy, leveraging tools like Claude and Salesforce Agentforce, to create a tangible competitive advantage.
- Inspire, develop, and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of proactive problem-solving, accountability, and outstanding internal customer service.
- Oversee all technological strategy and architecture to ensure a sustainable backbone for the firm, focusing on optimizing our Salesforce-centric environment.
- Ensure all systems and workflows adhere to the highest standards of data security and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, ABA Rules, etc.).
- Establish and enforce best practices for all technology assets and internal processes.
- Lead and execute a robust multi-year roadmap to guide the firm’s investments in automation and competitive digital solutions.
- Deconstruct, analyze, and automate core business processes, from marketing to lead intake and qualification to client onboarding and case management.
- Cultivate a culture that embraces digital change and data-driven decision-making.
- Serve as a strategic advisor and build strong relationships with department heads to deliver integrated technology solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of technical experience with a demonstrated record of success in growing people, processes, and organizational resources.
- 3+ years of management experience with direct reports.
- Hands-on Salesforce platform expertise, including comfort with code-reviewing Apex, auditing flow architecture, and acting as a senior practitioner. Active certifications (Admin, Platform Developer, Application Architect) are welcomed.
- Solid expertise in cloud computing platforms, integrated SaaS environments, and data analytics.
- Passion for AI and its potential to enhance both employee and customer experiences.
- Ability to flex between high-level strategy and tactical execution, with strong business acumen and communication skills.
