Director of Tax

For our client, we are seeking a Director of Tax to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This role will oversee the organization’s tax function with responsibility for compliance, planning, and reporting across U.S. and international operations. The Director of Tax will partner closely with finance leadership, auditors, and external advisors to ensure accurate filings, manage tax risk, and support strategic business decisions. This position is well suited for a hands-on tax leader who can operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $185,000 – $210,000 annually Responsibilities Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns accurately and on time Review and file sales and use tax returns across multiple states using tax automation software Prepare annual information reporting forms, including 1099, 1042, and 3921 Implement strategic tax planning for global entities Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations across all legal entities Monitor and update internal tax filing calendars and tax nexus requirements Serve as the primary tax contact for auditors and external advisors Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Tax; Master’s degree preferred Active or inactive CPA certification required 7+ years of experience in tax management, audit, or compliance in fast-paced environments Experience with international tax practices Expertise in tax planning, compliance, and return preparation Strong knowledge of federal, state, local, and international tax laws Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills Benefits Flexible work hours and vacation policies Generous 401K match and parental leave Wellness budget and learning reimbursement programs Supportive company culture focused on growth and impact Equity included in the compensation package Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
