Director of Talent
About EliseAI
At EliseAI, we're improving the industries that matter most: housing and healthcare. Everyone needs a place to live and access to quality healthcare, yet both are often harder to secure than they should be. By integrating AI agents deeply into existing workflows, we make them more efficient, reduce costs, and improve the experience for everyone.
- Housing: We simplify how renters tour apartments, sign leases, submit maintenance requests, and stay connected with their property team—bringing everything they need for their home into one place.
- Healthcare: We make it easy to schedule appointments, complete intake forms, and we help patients communicate with providers, so everyone can focus on health instead of paperwork.
We recently raised a $250 million Series E round led by Andreessen Horowitz to accelerate this mission.
About The Role
EliseAI is growing rapidly and we’re looking for a Director of Talent to build and lead the recruiting function that powers that growth. This is a high-impact role for a strategic and hands-on recruiting leader who thrives on building systems, teams, and relationships that deliver results.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and scale the recruiting function: Define and execute EliseAI’s talent acquisition strategy to meet hiring goals across departments and geographies.
- Establish hiring targets and reporting: Partner with leadership to set clear headcount goals and track progress through actionable data and insights.
- Drive innovative sourcing: Implement creative sourcing strategies to reach diverse and high-caliber talent pools across technical and business functions.
- Enhance interview practices: Audit and refine hiring processes to ensure consistency, speed, and accuracy in candidate evaluation.
- Lead executive recruiting: Lead searches for senior and executive hires, developing long-term relationships with executive-level talent over time.
- Agency partnerships: Build strong, collaborative relationships with recruiting agencies to ensure high-quality delivery and alignment with EliseAI’s culture and talent standards.
- Market insight and brand alignment: Stay close to talent market trends, compensation shifts, and competitor moves; ensure EliseAI remains a magnet for world-class talent.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with People Operations, Finance, and leadership to align recruiting with business priorities and resource planning.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in full-cycle recruiting, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role building or scaling in-house recruiting teams in a high-growth startup environment
- Strong strategic, generalist thinking balanced with operational execution and attention to detail
- Proven success owning hiring strategy and delivery for a fast-scaling startup or SaaS company
- Deep understanding of recruiting metrics, ATS systems, and data-driven process improvement
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing recruiting teams
- Experience personally managing executive recruiting and filling C-level openings
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization
- Willingness to work in person at our Manhattan office 5 days a week
Why Join?
- Growth and impact: It’s not often that you can get in on the ground floor of a funded (unicorn!) startup that’s scaling so fast. That means that instead of following a playbook, you’ll be writing it. Every single day you will be challenged to identify how we can scale and execute on it.
- Full autonomy, no micromanagement, no fluff: You own your impact; the rest of the team will be here to support you.
Benefits
- Competitive salaries
- Medical, Dental and Vision premiums covered at 100%
- Completely paid parental leave
- Commute benefits
- 401(k) benefits
- Fitness & home services stipend to cover part of your expenses so you can focus on what matters
- A collaborative in-office environment with an open floor plan, fully stocked kitchen, and all meals covered in the office
