Summary

The Director, Talent and Performance Management leads enterprise talent, succession, performance management, and leadership assessment strategies that strengthen leadership capability, deepen succession readiness, and support a high-performance culture. Partners with senior leaders, facility leadership teams, and HR systems teams to design, execute, and continuously improve scalable talent practices, including talent reviews, performance cycles, succession planning, high-potential development, success profiles, and leadership assessments. Uses talent data, market practices, and workforce insights to inform recommendations, measure program effectiveness, improve leader capability, and align talent investments with business priorities.

Essential Functions

  • Oversees CoreCivic's talent management, succession planning, and high potential identification and development processes.
  • Develops and manages yearly projects to deliver talent and performance management including project planning, material preparation, communication, training and post-cycle data capture and analysis.
  • Leads all talent review processes and calibration sessions.
  • Provides day-to-day support for performance management activities.
  • Equips employees, leaders, and HR partners with tools, frameworks, facilitation support, and coaching guidance to strengthen goal setting, feedback, development planning, talent differentiation, calibration, succession planning, and performance conversations.
  • Designs, implements, and manages leadership assessment strategies to identify and assess leaders at all levels.
  • Leverages assessment tools aimed at strengthening leadership capabilities.
  • Incorporates emerging, evidence-based practices, and continuous improvement techniques to meet evolving business needs.
  • Supports enterprise capability planning through the development, identification, and ongoing management of critical skills, career experiences, readiness indicators, and development pathways that strengthen internal mobility, succession depth, and future workforce readiness.
  • Supports coaching and mentoring capability throughout the organization toward the desired state of continuous feedback.
  • Develops and maintains talent and performance management metrics, dashboards, and executive-ready insights to evaluate process effectiveness, identify talent risks, assess succession readiness, monitor leadership pipeline health, and recommend actions that improve business and workforce outcomes.
  • Defines and measures the effectiveness of program outcomes, monitors KPIs, evaluates adoption, and recommends improvements.
  • Partners with HR Systems and technology stakeholders to optimize talent and performance management platforms, improve process automation, integrate AI capabilities, maintain data integrity, enhance reporting capabilities, support system adoption, and ensure talent processes are configured to deliver a consistent and effective leader and employee experience.
  • Leads change management, communication, training, and adoption strategies for enterprise talent and performance processes to ensure leaders and employees understand expectations, use tools effectively, and apply processes consistently across the organization.
  • Conducts analysis of internal and benchmark talent data to identify trends and support talent management programs.
  • Supports coaching and mentoring capability throughout the organization toward the desired state of continuous feedback.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or an acceptable related field is required.
  • 5+ years of Human Resources work experience, which includes talent management, performance management, employee relations, project management and/or succession planning is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership capacity preferred.
  • Experience with cloud-based talent systems, specifically the talent and performance modules in Oracle Cloud HCM, is preferred.
  • PHIR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
