Position Reports To

Chief Financial Officer

Responsibilities

• Evaluating employee work performance annually
• Orienting employees to their work
• Training and educating employees
• Directing the total distribution of goods and services
• Approving prime supplier contracts
• Serving in a leadership role for the Value Analysis Committee
• Preparing and maintaining the Capital Budgeting process
• Formal development, implementation, and publication of departmental policies and procedures
• Interpreting and executing personnel and hospital policies
• Supervising employees in the Purchasing, Receiving, Materials, Linen Distribution, and Storeroom/Mailroom

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience, 3-5 years of hospital materials management experience preferred
• Supervisory experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Demonstrated negotiating skills

Supervision Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
