Director of Structural Casting Technology and Engineering
Responsibilities
This position will play an important role in the Howmet Engines organization working with the various plants around the world that produce Structural Castings and assisting them with standardization of technology and engineering best practices across the various casting facilities. Share knowledge of all aspects of the Investment Casting process and the major customer specifications required on the parts produced. Through a dotted line reporting structure, work with the Engineering Managers at the various Structural Casting facilities and serve as a technical expert. Build credibility with key resources both internally and externally. Partner with the Corporate Sales/Marketing team to establish/prioritize target customers, programs, and parts through technology-based value proposition. Ensure compliance with Howmet Aerospace business conduct policies, programs and standards. Drive and influence change where needed to support execution of overall strategy.

- Partner with Plant Leadership to outline succession plans for the various Plant Engineering organizations within Structural Castings
- Spearhead Structural Engineering Recruitment and Retention Efforts
Casting Development & Technology Leadership
- Leadership responsibility for Structural Castings
- Key Technical Development Support Growth Strategy
- Develop produce line specific standardized processes across science areas to ensure rapid and robust process supporting work transfer leveraging the global footprint
- Cost Validation / DVP / Growth Strategies for Ni Based alloy systems
- Expand critical capacities by developing and qualifying outsource suppliers
- Redefine and develop update market map with strategy to proactively develop jobs to ensure successful production launches
- Champion Emerging and Sustainable Projects
- Braze Repair Core Pack Full Implementation
- Weld Center of Excellence/Welding Development and Automation
- Structured Light Development and Automation
- Structural Equipment Reliability Support for Sustaining Capital Projects
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university. Minimum 15 years’ experience in the manufacture of Investment Castings with some level of plant operational management. Minimum 5 years’ experience in the manufacture of superalloy structural castings
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
