Job Responsibilities
- Working closely with the three main business unit leaders (Residential, Commercial and Turf) to identify business needs and analytics required.
- Help build out the 3–5 year strategy document by conducting environmental scans, documenting assumptions, and working with the ELT to turn this into insights and a well-defined business plan.
- Maintain appropriate assumptions supporting the strategy document, identify early warning indicators and data sets which would tell us if something were not developing as planned and adjust assumptions as appropriate.
- Highlight to leadership these changes.
- Maintain a live fact base for competitors and the market.
- Maintain data feeds from various data sources such as FRED, Census Data, and BLS. Use this data to support or challenge various assumptions and highlight to leadership.
- Develop a “point of view” concerning market sizes, Shaw market share, competitor’s information and customer buying behavior (in conjunction with the various marketing and customer / consumer insights teams).
- Prepare Ad-Hoc studies when requested from the various business units and the ELT.
- Learn the business deeply and be prepared to take leadership roles within the various business units.
Requirements
- 5 years’ experience working in a strategic role for a multi-billion-dollar company, MBA and/or proven consulting experience with a “top tier” consulting firm (EY, McKinsey etc.).
- Willingness to move to North Georgia or surrounding community (Chattanooga, North Atlanta) and be willing to work on site 80% of the time.
- Highly skilled in data analytics and various software programs to analyze data and turn data into insights.
- Proven communication skills with all key leaders of the company including ELT members.
- Ability to grow into senior leadership positions within the company within 2-3 years.
