Director of Strategic Initiatives - Operations Location: Flexible within the Company's footprint. Atlanta, Dallas, Nashville, and South Florida are all good fits, along with other markets across GA, FL, AL, the Carolinas, TN, VA, MO, TX, or KY. About the Company We're partnered with a leading field services organization serving commercial clients across a growing multi-state footprint spanning the Southeast and South-central US. Backed by top-tier private equity, the company is in a rapid growth phase, driven by an active acquisition strategy and a commitment to building best-in-class operations across its footprint. The organization is scaling quickly and investing heavily in operational excellence, technology enablement, and strategic growth initiatives across the business. The Opportunity This is a high-impact role designed for a sharp, early-career operator looking to transition from advisory work into true ownership, with a clear runway toward P&L or general management responsibility over time. As Director of Strategic Initiatives, you will partner closely with executive leadership to identify, prioritize, and execute critical value creation initiatives across the organization. You'll work directly with senior leaders and field operators to solve complex operational challenges, improve performance, and help scale the business during a period of significant growth. This role is being built as a development path toward future P&L or VP-level leadership over a number of branches. Key Responsibilities Lead Strategic, High-Impact Initiatives: Collaborate with executive leadership to identify, prioritize, and execute initiatives that enhance operations, accelerate growth, and create long-term enterprise value. Support Post-Acquisition Integration: Help transition newly acquired companies into the organization by evaluating current operations, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing structured integration and operating plans. Strengthen the Management Operating System: Improve the flow of operational and performance data to field teams, enhance the operating model, and establish effective processes for tracking actions, outcomes, and accountability. Develop and Execute an AI Strategy: Evaluate practical applications for AI across corporate and field operations, prioritize opportunities, support implementation, and measure adoption and business impact. Increase Customer Retention: Analyze customer attrition trends and underlying drivers, develop proactive retention initiatives, and create reporting and tools that enable account management teams to strengthen customer relationships. Optimize Operational Processes: Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate administrative workflows, allowing field teams to dedicate more time to service quality and customer engagement. Support Revenue Growth: Develop and execute initiatives designed to increase enhancement sales, strengthen commercial performance, and improve revenue-generation capabilities across the organization. Build Scalable Operational Infrastructure: Establish reporting systems, processes, management routines, KPI frameworks, and performance tracking tools that improve visibility, accountability, and execution. Connect Strategy with Field Execution: Partner directly with field leaders and front-line teams to translate strategic priorities into practical solutions and measurable operational improvements. Enable Executive Decision-Making: Apply strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills to evaluate opportunities and provide leadership with actionable insights for critical business decisions. What We’re Looking For Experience with a top-tier consulting firm such as Bain, BCG, or McKinsey; a private equity operations team; or another highly analytical and performance-driven environment, with demonstrated potential for progression into P&L or general management leadership. A clear ambition to advance into a P&L leadership position with responsibility for multiple branches, locations, or business units rather than pursuing a long-term strategy or advisory career. Exceptional problem-solving capabilities combined with a strong bias toward action, accountability, execution, and ownership. Ability to navigate ambiguity, work effectively in rapidly changing environments, and bring structure and clarity to complex business challenges. Strong communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across a broad range of stakeholders. Willingness and ability to work directly within field-based operational environments alongside front-line employees and business leaders. Experience or exposure to operational transformation, technology implementation, artificial intelligence, process optimization, or similar improvement initiatives is highly valued. Previous military experience is a plus. MBA preferred. Why Join This Role Gain direct visibility and exposure to executive leadership and private equity ownership. Follow a clearly defined career path toward P&L or general management responsibility across multiple branches or business units. Play a meaningful role in operational improvement, technology adoption, and strategic transformation within a rapidly expanding organization. Take on a highly visible position with broad exposure to multiple functions, markets, and business units. Work in a dynamic, acquisition-focused environment offering substantial opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
