About the role
The Director of Software Development leads the Digital Product team at West Shore Home, driving strategic direction, technical architecture, and team culture. This role is crucial for advancing the team's adoption of AI-assisted development tools and next-generation software engineering models.
Responsibilities
- Ownership over the strategic direction of software development across the Digital Product team, ensuring alignment with the product roadmap, business objectives, and cross-functional stakeholder priorities.
- Responsible for technical architecture decisions, development standards, and platform evolution spanning web, mobile, and supporting technologies.
- Lead and develop a team of Software Development Managers and Staff; ensure Software Development Managers are empowered to manage day-to-day team operations, resource allocation, and sprint-level execution.
- Establish and enforce software development standards, coding best practices, security protocols, monitoring, and quality benchmarks across all development teams.
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
- 10+ years of progressive software development experience with 5+ years of software development leadership experience, required, including management of engineering managers, preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of setting technical strategy and driving architecture decisions in a product-driven environment.
- Experience providing input and recommendations on tooling selection, vendor evaluation, and third-party development partnerships in collaboration with leadership.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire, develop, and hold accountable a high-performing technical organization.
- Deep understanding of modern software development methodologies, including Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps.
- Proficiency with cloud-based development environments, CI/CD pipelines, and software architecture patterns.
Qualifications

Pay
The approximate salary range for this position is $175,000-$215,000 annually. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.

Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM (Full-Time)
