Director of Social, TV Campaigns
Burbank, CA – on site. $80/hour (W2, eligible for benefits). Contract starts in August and runs through the end of the year, with high potential to extend.
About the role
We’re seeking an experienced Director of Social Media & Content with a strong television, entertainment, or streaming social media background to lead social campaigns for a portfolio of premium scripted programming. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative social leader who understands how to build fandom, drive engagement, and create culturally relevant content around TV shows. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience developing and executing TV show social campaigns, understands the entertainment lifecycle from launch through post-season engagement, and can quickly step in to lead strategy, creative development, and execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead the creative strategy and execution of social media campaigns for multiple television series and original programming.
- Develop social campaigns that build awareness, conversation, and audience engagement throughout a show’s lifecycle.
- Oversee social creative development, publishing, and community management across platforms including TikTok, Instagram, and emerging channels.
- Create campaign concepts, creative briefs, and content strategies that reflect each show’s unique tone, voice, and audience.
- Partner with internal creative teams, marketing, production, agencies, and external vendors to bring campaigns to life.
- Lead social content capture at premieres, junkets, promotional events, and production shoots.
- Develop and execute influencer marketing strategies, including identifying talent, managing partnerships, and overseeing content delivery.
- Collaborate with paid media teams on social campaign strategy, targeting, and performance optimization.
- Analyze social insights and engagement metrics to drive growth, retention, and audience connection.
- Present campaign strategies, creative concepts, and performance updates to senior leadership and show stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of social media marketing experience, ideally within television, entertainment, streaming, film, or media brands.
- Proven experience leading social campaigns for TV shows, series launches, or entertainment properties.
- Strong understanding of entertainment audiences, fandom culture, and social storytelling.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and creative partners.
- Strong creative instincts with excellent writing and content judgment.
- Deep knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, and evolving social platforms.
- Experience with influencer strategy and execution.
- Ability to quickly step into a fast-paced environment and operate independently.
Pay
$80/hour (W2, eligible for benefits).
