About the role
The Director of Small Business & Technology Development Center provides senior management oversight and leadership for the SBTDC’s Regional Service Center at Fayetteville State University (FSU) and the sub‑center at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP). The role encompasses client counseling and technical assistance, center management and administration, marketing and outreach, training, and performance evaluations and professional development for a regional service center with full‑time staff reporting to the director. The position is based in the Fayetteville‑Cumberland Regional Entrepreneur and Business HUB. FSU is a constituent institution of the University of North Carolina System; its College of Business and Economics is AACSB‑accredited and ranked among the top 100 part‑time and online graduate business programs by U.S. News & World Report and Princeton Review, offering a collegial academic environment focused on teaching, service, and community relationships.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate programs and activities of the Regional Center consistent with the SBTDC Strategic Plan.
- Supervise and mentor Regional Center personnel.
- Manage the Regional Center’s operational budget.
- Maintain working relationships with key regional partners and resources, including NC DOC, EDPNC, Chambers of Commerce, EDCs, banks, and other debt & equity funding sources.
- Develop and implement program marketing plans.
- Deliver appropriate training to meet annual work‑plan deliverables.
- Participate in training events as an instructor or moderator as appropriate.
