About the Role
Manages security and loss prevention operations on a daily basis. Responsibilities include protecting property assets, employees, and guests; preventing and responding to accidents and fires; and ensuring all areas of the property are safe and secure. Maintains logs, certifications, and documents required by law and Standard Operating Procedures. Focuses on improving guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing the department's financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Assists in developing and implementing emergency procedures.
- Conducts investigations of all property asset losses and refers findings to management for disposition.
- Deploys security staff to monitor and protect property assets effectively.
- Complies with all Corporate Loss Prevention safety and security management guidelines and procedures.
- Conducts periodic patrols of the entire property and parking areas.
- Handles complaints, settles disputes, resolves grievances, and negotiates conflicts.
- Identifies and recommends ways to minimize physical hazards and unsafe work practices.
- Implements action plans to monitor and control risk.
- Maintains required reports and documentation regarding patrols.
- Ensures timely access to necessary medical attention.
- Attends pre- and post-convention and weekly forecast meetings to gather critical information for Loss Prevention officers.
- Celebrates team successes by publicly recognizing contributions.
- Communicates the importance of safety procedures and ensures employee understanding of safety codes.
- Encourages mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
- Identifies developmental needs and coaches or mentors team members to improve skills.
- Provides guidance, sets performance standards, and monitors performance for subordinates.
- Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors.
- Solicits employee feedback and addresses concerns using an "open door" policy.
- Strives to improve service performance and utilizes interpersonal skills to lead and influence others.
- Displays leadership in guest hospitality and exemplifies excellent customer service.
- Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service and meet quality standards daily.
- Incorporates guest safety and satisfaction into departmental meetings with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Assists in minimizing cost of accident claims through aggressive claims management.
- Reports employee accidents and general liability incidents to Claims Reporting Service.
- Completes hourly employee performance appraisals according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Handles disciplinary procedures and documentation according to SOPs and LSOPs, supporting the Peer Review Process.
- Administers property policies fairly and consistently.
- Maintains first aid and CPR certifications for Loss Prevention officers.
- Handles guest problems and complaints effectively.
- Identifies educational needs and develops or teaches training programs.
- Provides services that exceed customer expectations for satisfaction and retention.
- Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solutions for problem-solving.
- Develops and maintains a working relationship with local law enforcement authorities.
- Informs executives, peers, and subordinates of relevant information in a timely manner.
- Provides information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates via telephone, written form, email, or in person.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; 4 years of experience in security/loss prevention or a related professional area.
- OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Criminal Justice or a related major; 2 years of experience in security/loss prevention or a related professional area.
Pay
$87,000 - $116,000 annually | Bonus eligible
