About the role

Oracle’s Global Physical Security (GPS) operations team is the primary interface with all clients, ensuring client needs and expectations are met with high-quality, industry-standard programs and services. This position leads and develops teams, products, and services within the GPS operations line of business, specializing in hyperscale data center operational security, guard force management, crisis management programs, risk assessments, incident response, and investigations. The role is on-site in Shackelford, TX and reports directly to the Senior Director, Global Security Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational direction and oversight to implement GPS strategic initiatives for the data center operational security program.
  • Manage physical security operations, including capital and operational budgets for security services and programs.
  • Lead incident response, investigations, and crisis response as a core member of the Crisis Management Team.
  • Serve as a Project Management Team member for new data center builds, conversions, and restructuring, focusing on security design and regime operation.
  • Develop and implement business plans to ensure optimal performance and excellent customer service across the region.
  • Manage partner/vendor relations, including security guard force management at hyperscale data centers.
  • Collaborate with Global Security Operations Centers (GSOC), Security Systems, Risk & Investigations, Events, Crisis Management, and Executive Protection teams.
  • Liaise with internal Oracle partners to develop new programs and leverage resources for program and service delivery.
  • Engage with external industry resources (e.g., law enforcement, military, emergency responders, industry peers, and associations).
  • Partner with Oracle Lines of Business and external audit regulatory bodies to ensure physical security compliance with standards such as ISO, SOC1 &2, NIST, FedRAMP, HIPAA, and PCI.
  • Provide quality advice to Oracle employees on all aspects of physical security as it applies to data center security.
  • Maintain oversight of third-party security service providers for recruitment, selection, orientation, training, development, and retention of high-caliber security guard force staff.
  • Ensure compliance with industry-standard physical security best practices, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare and manage the hyperscale data center security operations program budget.
  • Perform additional functions as directed by the Senior Director, Global Security Operations.

Requirements

  • 15 years of industrial security experience, with a minimum of 7 years in senior management and leadership, ideally within a physical security/data center operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of industry-specific legislation and compliance requirements related to physical security operations, particularly in data center security.
  • Experience in crisis management as it relates to physical security at the corporate level.
  • Working knowledge of security technology resources, including access control and video systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and communication techniques.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with corporate executive leadership.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to develop operational strategy, lead collaborative teams, and analyze business needs to identify required programs and services.

Qualifications

Experience in the required essential functions is mandatory. A BS/BA degree is desirable but not mandatory. Industry certifications are preferred but not required.

Scope of Responsibility

The Director, Hyperscale Data Center Security Operations will initially oversee a campus-level scope, with potential expansion to other regions as Oracle’s Hyperscale Data Center program grows. The role involves high-impact decisions and minimal direct supervision, reflecting its director-level responsibility and operational impact on the business function.

Pay

Hiring range in USD: $126,200 - $264,100 per year. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
