Director of Security Operations and Engineering

For our client, we are seeking a Director of Security Operations and Engineering to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space. This leader will own critical security operations and engineering functions across a global, remote-first environment. The role is focused on strengthening prevention, detection, response, and resilience while partnering closely with Legal, HR, IT, Product, and acquired businesses. The right person will help scale the security program through thoughtful organizational design, automation, and practical risk communication. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $150,000 – $180,000 annually Responsibilities Lead end-to-end incident response, including collaboration with Legal on investigations Oversee detection engineering, threat hunting, and relevant security platforms Develop and implement security engineering strategies focused on prevention Build and manage the insider threat program in partnership with HR and IT Drive automation and AI initiatives to enhance analyst capabilities Integrate acquired companies into the organization's security standards Collaborate with IT and Product teams to embed preventive controls into their systems Scale the security program through effective org design and vendor strategy Qualifications 5+ years of management experience leading security teams 7+ years of hands-on experience in security operations, incident response, detection, or security engineering Proven track record of scaling a security function during rapid growth Strategic thinker with a focus beyond immediate responsibilities Ability to communicate technical risks in business terms to various stakeholders Comfortable in a global, remote-first work environment with flexible schedules Benefits Access to health and wellness resources through CuraLinc Wellness Fridays until December 2026 Support for work-life balance and overall well-being Region-specific benefits available upon inquiry Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
