Director of School Development - Franklin
About the Role
Develop and lead the organizational fundraising strategy and implementation plan to grow current annual and capital campaigns. Establish systems, processes, and tools to maximize fundraising capacity, including overseeing the donor management database and working with data entry staff. Expand and manage the Giving Societies, including creating a planned giving program.
Manage a portfolio of 25 major gift donors and prospects, developing and implementing tailored cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans. Oversee efforts to research and apply for foundation grants, including post-award reporting requirements. Evaluate progress toward goals and provide regular reporting to the Vice President for Advancement, Head of School, and the Board of Directors.
Develop print and digital marketing collateral related to fundraising in collaboration with the marketing department. Lead and collaborate with staff on the management and planning of fundraising events and donor receptions. Coordinate fundraising special events and perform other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Develop and administer the department budget to ensure expenses and revenue are within the budget.
- Oversee donor management database and work with data entry staff.
- Expand and manage Giving Societies, including creating a planned giving program.
- Manage a portfolio of 25 major gift donors and prospects with tailored cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans.
- Research and apply for foundation grants; manage all post-award aspects, including reporting.
- Evaluate progress toward fundraising goals and provide regular reports to leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Develop fundraising-related marketing collateral in collaboration with the marketing department.
- Lead and collaborate on the planning and management of fundraising events and donor receptions.
- Coordinate fundraising special events.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Fundraising and donor relations experience, preferably in a Christian school or nonprofit organization.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Classical education background and familiarity with the Great Texts and dialectical education preferred.
- Familiarity with the Orthodox Church’s ethos, theology, and traditions, and commitment to support it.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Excellent community builder and networker.
- Willingness to “roll up one’s sleeves” and do what is needed.
- Interest and experience in teaching or coaching K-12 students.

Schedule
Full-time, non-exempt, twelve months. 40 hours per week.
