About the role
SpringHill Suites Paso Robles-Atascadero is seeking a driven and experienced Director of Sales to lead the sales team in generating revenue for the hotel while emphasizing profitability and market share growth. This role serves as the ambassador for the hotel in the area and ensures revenue budgets and productivity goals are achieved or exceeded.
Responsibilities
- Develop new accounts, maintain existing accounts, and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue goals and maximize profits while maintaining guest satisfaction.
- Direct the day-to-day activities of the Sales Team, including planning and organizing for each revenue segment (e.g., banquet and catering food and beverage). Assign work, develop strategies, and communicate goals.
- Hire, train, motivate, and hold accountable all sales team members. Provide coaching to drive performance and job satisfaction.
- Educate staff on formal policies, procedures, and goals. Ensure the team has the tools, resources, and leadership to meet and exceed expectations.
- Manage all human resource-related actions in accordance with company rules and policies.
- Achieve or exceed individual, team, and hotel budget goals.
- Manage all lead sources to ensure timely, accurate responses and conversion into revenue-generating bookings.
- Ensure the sales system is utilized properly and consistently in accordance with company expectations.
- Analyze current and potential market trends and coordinate activities to maintain and increase revenue and market share through added business volume, rates, and food and beverage contribution.
- Seek new customers through strategic proactive sales efforts for all segments.
- Conduct effective sales calls to key accounts and prospects.
- Monitor sales team activities and performance to ensure revenue goals are met or exceeded. Establish plans and report progress to management.
- Utilize tools and resources to make informed decisions and maximize revenue.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with peers and competitors.
- Train and empower sales team members to exercise good judgment and make profitable business decisions.
- Display leadership in guest hospitality, exemplify customer service, and set a positive example for guest relations.
- Execute and support the administrative aspects of booked business (e.g., generating proposals, writing contracts, customer correspondence).
- Promote intradepartmental communication and ensure all departments are informed on sales initiatives, upcoming groups, events, and VIPs.
- Complete ongoing sales objectives and action plans as directed by the Regional Director of Sales.
- Complete all weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting as specified by the Regional Director of Sales.

Pay
Salary Range: $100,000–$115,000 annually
