Director of Sales
This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Johnson Hospitality. The franchisee controls all employment policies, including hiring, compensation, benefits, and other terms of employment. If hired, you will be employed by the franchisee, not Marriott International, Inc.
About the Role
Responsible for generating top-line revenue to meet or exceed budget expectations. You will solicit, negotiate, and create new corporate sales accounts while maintaining the current corporate client portfolio. Lead the Sales team, which includes the Sales and Events Manager and Sales Coordinator, and work closely with the General Manager and Corporate Sales Leader to develop an effective business and marketing plan.
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating a sales environment conducive to learning.
- Participate in associate functions, client and guest events, and community events.
- Develop and maintain the business and marketing plan, budgets, and forecasts with the General Manager and Corporate Sales Leader.
- Qualify leads and prospects from tele-prospecting, cold calls, sales blitzes, and other lead sources.
- Utilize sales tools such as Ivy and other brand and corporate resources.
- Make outside sales calls and participate in joint revenue calls with the General Manager and Corporate Sales Leader.
- Cultivate lead sources and network with prospects to uncover decision-makers.
- Establish and maintain close contact with top and target accounts through calls, appointments, tours, correspondence, and entertainment.
- Assess future and current client needs and monitor production of top accounts.
- Evaluate market trends and build rapport with competitor hotels, lead sources, clients, and the local community.
- Meet and greet onsite contacts and develop a full working knowledge of hotel operations, including Guest Services and Housekeeping.
- Assist with rate and services decisions.
- Use the L.E.A.R.N Model for guest recovery incidents (Listen, Empathize, Apologize, React, Notify).
- Maintain a friendly and welcoming demeanor with guests.
- Enforce department policies and procedures fairly and consistently.
- Attend weekly sales meetings and complete weekly and monthly sales call reports.
- Maintain accurate sales files and trace systems for Top and Target accounts.
- Maintain the hotel’s social media presence.
- Follow quality assurance standards and hotel emergency procedures.
- Administer key control for issued keys and follow all hotel safety guidelines.
- Perform reasonable requests from management, including physical tasks such as bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and standing for prolonged periods.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, lifting, carrying, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching, kneeling, and prolonged standing or walking.
- Ability to perform all functions within required safety guidelines.
Pay
$130,000 – $160,000 per year

Full-time, 40 hours per week
