About the role
An established independent wealth management firm seeks a senior practice leader to oversee the advisory practice, manage employees, and support firm growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day management of the advisory practice.
- Manage and develop relationship managers and client-service employees.
- Review reporting structures, staffing needs, and employee responsibilities.
- Build onboarding, training, career-development, and succession plans.
- Lead hiring, one-on-ones, performance reviews, and employee coaching.
- Establish KPIs, reporting, service standards, and accountability.
- Improve client-service workflows, handoffs, and internal communication.
- Oversee HR administration, PTO, benefits coordination, vendors, and office operations.
- Partner closely with the founder on team performance and business priorities.
Requirements
- 10+ years in an independent RIA, financial planning firm, or wealth management practice.
- 5+ years managing employees within an advisory environment.
- Experience leading relationship managers, client-service professionals, or practice staff.
- Strong understanding of RIA operations and the client-service lifecycle.
- Experience with hiring, training, performance management, KPIs, and process improvement.
- Comfortable working onsite five days per week in the Hauppauge area.
- No licenses or personal book of business are required.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications
Must have a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
