Director of Retail Solutions

About the Role

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Director of Retail Solutions to lead the product management organization in building out ELERA solutions. This role involves real ownership, including managing the budget and business outcomes for the retail solutions portfolio, leading an experienced product team, and owning the relationship with the engineering organization.

Responsibilities

• Own the business outcomes and budget for the retail solutions portfolio, including roadmap commitments, investment decisions, and results.
• Prioritize the portfolio backlog across competing demands, such as platform compliance obligations, active customer rollouts, and strategic roadmap initiatives.
• Drive entry into new market segments and adjacent verticals, from business case through market release.
• Own the voice of the customer, ensuring roadmap commitments to largest retailers are understood, prioritized, and met.
• Manage the working relationship with the engineering organization, including commitments, change control, and release acceptance.
• Represent the portfolio in release and program planning cycles, ensuring alignment across product, development, services, and program stakeholders.
• Represent retail solutions to customers, partners, and the executive team, partnering with sales, marketing, and services for effective market reach.
• Provide day-to-day direction to the team, including coaching product managers and managing people leadership responsibilities such as one-on-ones, performance management, hiring, and career development.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated accountability for a software product business, including budget, roadmap commitments, and measurable business outcomes.
• Experience leading a product management organization through managers, not just as an individual contributor or single-team lead.
• Experience balancing a product backlog across compliance obligations, customer commitments, and strategic roadmap work with multiple concurrent workstreams and dependencies.
• Track record of owning decisions on scope, priority, and customer commitments.
• Experience stepping into an existing organization and quickly establishing leadership credibility.
• Experience owning working relationships with partner organizations like engineering, services, and program teams, including formal commitments and change management.
• Experience building and sustaining executive-level relationships with enterprise customers.
• Demonstrated use of AI-accelerated methods in product work and initiative to learn new capabilities as tooling evolves.
• 12+ years of relevant experience, including several years leading product organizations at a manager-of-managers level.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or equivalent business leadership experience.
• Retail technology, point-of-sale background, and/or enterprise commerce domain experience.
• Experience working in a scaled agile environment with formal program increment or release planning cycles.
• Experience leading product organizations through rapid growth or transformation.
• Experience operating within a defined portfolio governance model with multiple stakeholders.
