Director of Retail

Robert Half is seeking a proven Director of Retail to accelerate revenue growth, increase market penetration, and drive profitability across a diverse portfolio of channels for our client in the Philadelphia area. This individual will lead the sales function, strengthen strategic customer and partner relationships, and partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, Operations, and R& D to execute commercial strategies that support both brand and corporate goals. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in cosmetics, skincare, or related personal care markets, along with the agility and vision to succeed in a rapidly growing entrepreneurial business. Responsibilities:Lead, coach, and develop a results-driven sales organization that includes account management, field sales, inside sales, and sales support functions.Recruit and onboard new team members, define performance expectations, and create incentive approaches that align with financial goals and company guidelines.Oversee trade show leadership and ensure event and publication efforts produce strong opportunities that move into active follow-up and pipeline development.Create and execute channel-specific sales plans that support revenue growth, brand positioning, and long-term profitability across domestic and international markets.Establish sales targets, pricing parameters, discount strategies, and measurable performance indicators for quarterly and annual planning.Expand business through new account acquisition while increasing revenue within existing customer relationships across retail, distribution, and online channels.Evaluate market conditions, customer behavior, and competitive activity to identify expansion opportunities, prioritize channels, and guide commercial decisions.Track sales results by territory, product category, and channel, using CRM-driven forecasting and reporting practices to improve visibility, pipeline quality, and decision-making.Manage the private label opportunity pipeline, including longer-cycle business development efforts that require sustained strategic follow-through.
