Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of the Restorative Nursing and Respiratory Services programs.
- Ensure compliance with CMS, state regulations, and facility policies.
- Cook up resident restorative programs including ROM, ambulation, transfer training, positioning, splint/brace programs, ADL retraining, and self-care programs.
- Cook up respiratory services including oxygen therapy, CPAP/BiPAP oversight, nebulizer and inhaler programs, pulse oximetry monitoring, and resident respiratory assessments within RN scope of practice.
- Cook up with physicians, rehabilitation, consulting respiratory therapists, pharmacy, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Develop resident care plans and participate in MDS and care plan meetings.
- Monitor resident progress and revise care plans as needed.
- Audit restorative and respiratory documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Supervise restorative staff and provide education and competency validation for nursing personnel.
- Provide resident and family education regarding restorative goals and respiratory disease management.
- Maintain inventory and safety of restorative and respiratory equipment.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and participate in QAPI activities.
- Track quality measures related to functional decline, falls, oxygen use, respiratory infections, and readmissions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- Current CPR certification.
- Knowledge of restorative nursing principles.
- Knowledge of respiratory disease processes and oxygen therapy commonly encountered in long-term care.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of nursing experience.
- Long-term care experience.
- Supervisory or management experience.
- Experience with restorative nursing programs.
- Experience coordinating respiratory care services.
- Experience with QAPI and MDS processes.
