About the role
The Director of Resource Management oversees financial and workforce administration for the Student Affairs division, managing approximately $80M and more than 30 departments' fiscal activities. This position collaborates with various stakeholders and leads professional development activities.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and monitors all division accounts, including CSU Operating Fund, Student Success, Excellence, and Technology Fee, Professional and Continuing Education Fund, Research Foundation, Tower Foundation, Self-Support Units, and Trust Accounts.
- Ensures compliance with financial guidelines and policies, prepares quarterly reports, and analyzes expenditures.
- Develops and enforces fiscal policies, distributes salary and federal work study funds, and aligns staffing with available fiscal resources.
- Collaborates with People and Culture for personnel actions, manages recruitment, and supports performance reviews.
- Led the development of a workforce strategy, chairs the Budget, Finance, and People and Culture committee, and leads professional development activities.
- Monitors financial risks, develops action plans, and serves as a liaison with People and Culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Five years of progressively responsible fiscal administration responsibilities including budget development, monitoring, and training.
- Experience in human resources administration, supervision, and collective bargaining environment.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, make projections, and apply financial guidelines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in spreadsheets and databases.
- Knowledge of HR policies and collective bargaining agreements.
- Experience with emerging technologies and AI in higher education.
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts and interpret financial guidelines.
- Verbal and written communication skills for presentations and reports.
- Proficiency in HR functions, including recruiting, hiring, supervising, and evaluating staff.
- Ability to communicate with constituents professionally and respectfully.
- Knowledge of CSU policies and procedures.
