The Role

The Director of Resort Operations at Enchantment is responsible for managing all resort day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth running operations, maintaining financial responsibility and profitability, and providing exceptional guest service.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and controls the activities of the Front Office, Concierge, Bell Staff, Valet, Housekeeping, Laundry, Food & Beverage, Resort Activities, Maintenance and Landscaping.
  • Oversee and have a working knowledge of all operating systems and procedures.
  • Deal effectively with all departments on a daily basis to ensure high standards of guest services based on Forbes standards.
  • Develop deep relationships with Forbes team, trainer, and Quality Assurance staff.
  • Affirms that standards are met, guests and employees are satisfied, and problems are promptly resolved.
  • Ensure that all guests' issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Effectively supervise all areas including coaching and counseling, and disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Conduct performance reviews as necessary.
  • Ensure that department profitability objectives are met.
  • Seek new ways to grow revenues and profits.
  • Maintain labor and operating expenses through effective planning, budgeting, purchasing decisions, policy making, and inventory control.
  • Monitor and control other divisional expenses such as supplies and equipment.
  • Assists in preparing business forecasts.
  • Make suggestions that will improve revenue, reduce cost and increase guest satisfaction.
  • Interact with VIP's, Homeowners, and Meeting planners as necessary.
  • Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met as well as attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
  • Ensure that all training programs are implemented in operations in accordance with Forbes and Resort standards.
  • Manage guest feedback via Revinate and cooperate with departments to increase guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Managing Director on HOA, Development and projects needs.
  • Collaborate with Mii amo General Manager to ensure smooth guest experience between both properties.
  • Know all safety and emergency procedures for guests and employees and understand accident prevention policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervision

  • Exercised supervision over: Director of Food & Beverage, Director of Lodging, Activities Director, Director of Engineering, Landscaping Manager, Director of Retail.
  • Received supervision from: Managing Director.

Requirements

  • A college degree preferably specializing in hotel management, business administration or equivalent experience is required.
  • Three to Five years’ previous experience as a Director of Operations / Resort Manager or General Manager at a luxury resort.
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with ease.
  • Computer skills required; advanced PMS experience preferred.
  • Strong guest and team member relations skills.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in the United States.
  • This position requires an applicant with a flexible schedule, able to work morning/afternoon shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical requirements: 35% sitting, 65% walking, standing and bending. Lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. Hearing and manual dexterity. Distance vision 1-3 feet. Ability to drive golf cart on occasion as necessary.
