Director of Religious Education
Location: Parker, CO • Full-time • 40 hours per week
About the Role
We are looking for someone with a theological vision of the parish and faith formation as informed by the life of the Trinity and the Tradition of the Catholic Church. This person sees the parish as a space where Catholics grow in their identity and participate more fully in life with God centered around the sacraments. This person understands the spiritual needs of families and children and is able to direct a team toward meeting those needs.
In tandem with the current Priest Director of Religious Education, he/she oversees the execution and development of the following ministries: Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, Teens, and Children; Marriage Ministry; Young Adult Ministry; High School and Middle School Youth Ministries; K-8 Faith Formation and Sacramental Preparation; Music Ministry; Baptism Ministry. This person sees these ministries as instruments to pass on the faith in a lived and personal/relational way. This person sets the vision for these programs under the guidance of the pastor and with the assistance of the current Director, and helps the team flourish in their ministries so that the faith is handed on to the parish in organically developed and Spirit-imbued ways.
Responsibilities
- Know the parish and parishioners in the parish, as your own home and family
- Daily contact and building of relationships with the faith formation team
- Weekly one-on-one meetings to support team members and give direction to the programs
- Weekly team meetings to discuss vision, paths forward, areas of improvement, priorities, and needs of team members
- Frequent participation in the faith formation programs, and overseeing those programs and the team during their execution
- Managing/approving the schedules and hours of the team, as well as new programs they might want to initiate
- Weekly meeting with the Pastor as part of his parish leadership team
- Weekly one-on-one meeting with the Pastor for direction and support
- Prayerfully setting the vision for the handing on of the faith in the parish and guiding the team to move in that direction
Requirements
- Master’s level education in Theology, or higher
- 2-5 years of experience
- Practicing Catholic in good standing, faithful to the magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church, and an active member of a parish
- Conduct themselves according to the teaching, goals and mission of the Church, modeling Christian virtues in every aspect of their lives
- Undergo a background check and training regarding diocesan standards

Schedule
Sunday through Thursday with frequent evenings.
Pay
$55,000-$65,000 annual salary.
