Director of Quality Control (Aviation)

V2X Invites Applications For The Position Of Director Of Quality Control For The U.S. Department Of State (DoS) Bureau For International Narcotics And Law Enforcement / Office Of Aviation (INL/A) Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) Program. This Program Focuses On Providing Aviation Support For The Eradication And Interdiction Of Illicit Drugs, Training Of Contractor And Host Nation Personnel, Movement Of Personnel And Equipment, Reconnaissance, Personnel Recovery (PR), Medical Evacuation, Security Of Personnel And Equipment, And Ferrying Of Aircraft. Fixed Wing (FW): DHC-8; C-208; B-1900 R/W: HH-60L; HH60; UH-1 ST; UH-1 HII; SUAS: Skydio This permanent full-time position will be CONUS-based out of Melbourne, FL. However, remote work is permissible with visits as needed to customers and program support locations. Contract Period of Performance: 10 Years.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing leadership, vision and daily task guidance to the Quality Control team working in all areas of the program.
• Provides oversight and assists with the most technical and complex quality control monitoring of all program deliverables.
• Aids in the development of new monitoring methods and procedures.
• Prepares, organizes, and reviews all required quality control documentation.
• Ensures compliance with recognized standards and practices.
• Reviews all documentation for completeness, accuracy, and correctness.
• Solves complex problems requiring in-depth knowledge.
• Directs activities of more junior staff.
• Quality control ensures product quality compliance.
• Direct quality control activities across global aviation operations, maintenance, logistics, supply chain, and training programs to achieve measurable improvements in safety, mission readiness, and operational performance.
• Collaborates with the Transition Manager to ensure seamless integration between the Transition Approach and steady-state execution plan.
• Supports color team reviews (Pink, Red, Gold), incorporating evaluator-focused refinements and ensuring compliance with PWS and Section L/M requirements.
• Maintains strict traceability between proposal commitments and post-award management processes to minimize performance risk and protect the potential award fee.

Qualifications

• Thorough working knowledge of AS9110 (latest revision) and DCMA 8210.1C/D.
• Thorough working knowledge of Aviation Industry and DoD quality standards.
• Ten (10) years of QC experience on aviation / aerospace systems; four (4) years of management experience preferred.
• Eight (8) years of specialized experience supporting an aviation / aerospace program.
• Five (5) years of experience as a Quality Control Manager for a service contract of comparable scope and complexity.
• Completed an apprenticeship and/or formal training as an aviation / aerospace QC Technician.
• Experience and skills necessary to provide competent oversight for the following aircraft maintenance quality control tasks: 1) destructive and non-destructive first article testing; 2) establishment and collection of quality metrics; 3) execution of quality plans; 4) preparation and execution quality related tests, data collection and analysis; and 5) conduct manufacturing Source Inspections.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, Logistics, Quality Management / Quality Assurance, or related field, based on a four-year course of study from a U.S. accredited college or university or equivalent institution.
• Management and supervisory skills required.
• English fluent; (Spanish Level L-2, R-2 required in LATAM Programs).
