About the role
The Public Relations Department at our Slingerlands, NY facility is seeking a full-time, 40-hour Director of Public Relations & Development. This is a salaried, overtime exempt position with an annual salary of $62,553.20 + longevity.
Responsibilities
- Liaison and Foundation Board coordinator
- Special events
- Web site management
- Social media management
- Membership database management
- Development and maintenance of marketing materials
- Donor database management
- Family forums
- Fundraising
- Correspondence
- Government and public relations
- Providing administrative support for all initiatives (current and new)
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver’s license meeting WWAARC insurability requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Communications or Business is preferred
- Three years’ experience in project management, fundraising and/or public relations is preferred
- Must be an effective communicator in both the written and oral form
- Must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
- Must possess the ability to understand and implement technical information and explain it to all levels of the organization
- Must possess the ability to manage a variety and multitude of tasks at any one given time and effectively triage acute issues
- Must possess the ability to support projects both operationally and from a financial perspective including appropriate data analysis
- Must gain a thorough working knowledge of relevant OPWDD regulations, policies and statutes
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age

Pay
$62,553.20 + longevity
Schedule
A typical work week is Monday-Friday during agency business hours, but scheduling flexibility is required and based on agency needs.
